Miles Garage
As much as we enjoy walking around town, there are times that a car would come in handy for a family of five.
We've always planned to buy one here, but after yesterday's trip to a real supermarket, I really see the appeal. There are also some destinations that are just much simpler to drive to rather than use public transportation, especially when you have a child that doesn't always want to walk when needed.
Driving on the other side of the car AND the other side of the road sounds quite scary to me, especially when it means using tiny little streets and parallel parking in itty bitty spots!
Our plan was for me to take a few driving lessons because I will be the one driving the kids to school, but there is at least a 2 week wait at the driving schools I've contacted.
Side note: Jacob got into a great school that we are excited about! It isn't far from our home, but another example of a destination easier to get to by car.
There is also a car club in town that allows you pick up a car parked in various places and you pay by the trip/month/etc. We will probably just read up on British rules of the road, join the car club, and take some easy drives to get the feel of the road.
The prettiest little auto shop is a 2 minute walk from our house.
Their sign says "Established 100 Years"
I don't know how good of a British driver I will be, but at least I know where to go if I run into get hit by problems!
Baby steps! One day at a time. Love ya'll and this blog!
