Day 4: Starting a new blog

I'm starting this blog on Day 4 of being in The United Kingdom, so let's jump right in, shall we?

Hi, I'm Cayce.  I just moved with my family to Tunbridge Wells -- technically, Royal Tunbridge Wells-- in the county of Kent, 45 minutes southeast of London, England.

We moved here from Tennessee, my home state, but spent most of our years together in North Carolina.

My husband JD works in IT and will be taking the train in to central London for work.
We have 3 children: an 11 year old son who loves Star Wars and Legos, a 7 year old daughter who loves long spontaneous hugs, and a 2 year old daughter who loves terrorizing the both of them.

We are currently staying in a flat we found on Airbnb.
All the hotels in Tunbridge Wells were booked for our arrival, so when the owner of the rental contacted us while still in the States and said he would need to cancel our reservation due to the fact that his old flatmate recently took his bed back, we asked to keep the reservation and figure sleeping arrangements out ourselves.

"Hey kids, who wants a child size air mattress?!"

Turns out they don't like them so much.
Actually the bed JD and I sleep on isn't so much a mattress as it is an old collection of springs held together by a fitted sheet.  (Well that's what it feels like, anyway...)

There's no use dwelling on accommodations, though, because we only have one more week here in the flat before we have to leave.  By next Thursday we need to have moved into a home and furnished it with everything from furniture, to dishes and pots and pans, to toilet paper.

In reality, I know our home won't be completely furnished by next Thursday.
But we WILL have real mattresses.

And the toilet paper, of course. Definitely the toilet paper.
